Group Class

The AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy® Program (Socialization, Training, Activity, and a Responsible Owner) is the American Kennel Club’s first step in its Canine Good Citizen™ (CGC) training series. Designed for puppies up to 1 year old, this program goes beyond basic obedience to promote early development in real-world manners, safe socialization, and responsible dog ownership.

Throughout this 6-week class, puppies and owners will work on:

• Socialization with people and other dogs in a controlled setting
• Learning to accept handling (touching paws, ears, etc.)
• Loose-leash walking and response to name
• Building tolerance for grooming and vet visits
• Responsible owner behaviors (like bringing poop bags, maintaining wellness checks)
• Confidence-building in new environments

The class culminates in the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy® test, which includes 20 items evaluating both puppy behavior and owner responsibility. Upon passing, you’ll receive an official AKC certificate, medal, and be listed in the national S.T.A.R. Puppy registry.

In the ProTrainings Pro Pet Hero Pet First Aid and CPR Certification course, you'll learn how to recognize and respond to common pet emergencies. The course covers essential first aid techniques, CPR for pets, and pre-vet care to stabilize and immobilize injured or sick animals. You'll also learn how to handle poisons, envenomation, allergies, and respiratory emergencies. This comprehensive training prepares you to provide immediate care and safely transport pets to veterinary clinics.

Knowing what is normal can help you catch things before they become an emergency; knowing what to do in an emergency will help you remain calm and help save your pets life.
